It was sunny as we walked through the banana plantation in Northern Honduras and listened to a man tell the story of how the physical work caused him to have hernia. He also desperately needed the job to support his family - Please don’t boycott our bananas”, he said. “There must be another way.”
Back home in Michigan, I search for bananas with the “made in Honduras” sticker to purchase.
