Something flickered across his gentle eyes as his gaze locked with mine - a gaze so strong that emotions seized my restless heart. His tiny face cautiously peered up at me as he walked to school in the Cambodian heat. I can still see his sweet face, his little bare feet, and his soft smile.

But it is his gaze that will forever mark my memory – as it held a glimmer of hope for the future.

This piece was created by cutting and ripping paper images and text from various NGO’s and other helping organizations in Cambodia. There are many dedicated people passionately working to foster individual glimmers of hope since the 1975 Khmer Rouge genocide - hoping to reunite the society with the ability to dream again. It is this boy’s generation that has a chance to grow up pursuing dreams with confidence. What will you do about it? Learn Cambodia’s story and share it with others.
