I offer a variety of private art lessons including drawing, watercolor, acrylic, collage, and other art forms (sewing, wood burning, abstract art).
I studied Art at Calvin College and have continued to pursue it as a hobby since graduating in 2011. I have participated in a number of Art shows including ArtPrize for 6 years. I also have a degree in Recreational Therapy and believe in the therapeutic benefits of art.
Students will learn the principles of art and design, through using the book "Drawing from the Right Side of the Brain" by Betty Edwards. This book teaches students how to see negative space and how to tap into the right side of their brain.
Once learning the basic principles of drawing, students will choose, develop, and evaluate a project of their choosing. Past project ideas have included: Still life acrylic drawing, nature journals, portraiture, abstract painting, painting on objects, etc.
I work full time, but I provide evening lessons during the week. Lessons will be provided from my home in Kentwood, MI. Price varies depending on lessons desired and materials needed.
Please contact me at 616-466-2640 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
